Our Matriarch • The One Who Started It All

Nyla was born on December 27, 2019, to breeders Helene and Andy Hansmann of Moffat, Ontario.

 

She was one of eleven beautiful littermates, a big, lively family of Bullmastiffs who would each go on to make their mark.

​​

Because of the 2019–2020 COVID restrictions, Nyla’s first show season was postponed. But once the rings reopened, she quickly made up for lost time. Through dedication, countless hours of training, and many miles on the road, Nyla earned her title as a Best in Specialty Show Grand Champion, a true reflection of her grace, structure, and unwavering spirit.

Nyla commands attention wherever she enters the ring. She carries herself with confidence, elegance, and a gentle strength that makes people stop and look. Her presence is calm, focused, and unforgettabke.

​

 Outside the show world, Nyla is pure joy, affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality. She’s a devoted cuddler who loves resting her face against yours, cheek to cheek, and greeting every day with her bright, knowing eyes.

​

Her favorite words are “Go for a run?” and “Wanna hear a secret?”  both guaranteed to bring out that happy tail and joyful sparkle.

​

She’s persistent and determined, with just enough stubborn charm to keep you smiling. Yet her soft side shines through in the quiet moments, gently sucking on her teddy bears or carrying her beloved squeaky chicken, always careful not to hurt it but covering it in slobbery love.

​

Nyla is the matriarch of Archangel Bullmastiffs, the foundation of our breeding program and the heart of everything that followed.

Her intelligence, loyalty, and nurturing spirit live on in every Archangel dog, most notably in her daughter, Mia, and granddaughter, Frankie.

​

She is the guardian of our legacy, the reason behind our name, and forever the angel who started it all.
